You are required to do research on this project. Three sources must be quoted in your speech
and cited in your formal complete sentence outline.
You also must CITE sources in your outline, you may either write them out as
you plan to say them in your speech (see example above) or you can use
parenthetical documentation. Ex. (Smith, pg. 134)
Complete sentence outlines in MLA formatting are required for this speech and
must be submitted with the speech. Outlines must be typed. The outline must
include a thesis, preview, introduction, main points, summary/conclusion, and
transitional statements. A formal final outline, with a work cited page, is due the
same day as the speech. It must be typed in 12-point size. The work cited
references must be in MLA style. The outline is worth 20 points of your total
speech grade.
