1) Find a finance-related news article that is related to the topics that we have covered or will cover in this course (ideally something that has been published within the last 12 months). Make sure the article is coming from a reputable news source. (10 pts)
2) Post a 2-3 paragraph high-level summary of your article on Canvas in the corresponding discussion board. You’re welcome to do more research to understand the topic being discussed in your article, but ultimately you only need to post a summary of 1 article. Each paragraph has to be at least 4 complete sentences. (20 pts)
3) In addition to your summary, share your opinion and thoughts on the article in 1-2 paragraph. You could answer questions like: Do you agree with the situation? How does it impact you or the ones around you? What should be done to address the issue? If the article is about positive news, what are some potential downsides? (and vice versa), etc. How you answer some of these questions will vary depending on the article you selected. Each paragraph has to be at least 4 complete sentences. (20 pts)
4) Once you have posted your article, please read and respectfully respond to someone else’s post. What do you think about the article they are sharing? Do you agree with their views? If so, why? If you disagree, why? 1-2 paragraphs should suffice. (20 pts)
5) Be ready to discuss your article in class. Due to time constraints we will only discuss 1 to 2 articles. These will be randomly selected at the beginning of class. (20 pts)
