This essay is about doing your own research on a topic and applying the theories we’ve learned to help you make sense of your research. Choose an innovation that is not covered in Ridley’s book. Research the history of the innovation in primary and secondary sources (e.g. patent filings, newspapers, books, and academic articles). Using what you learn about the history of your chosen innovation and citing your sources, assess how well Ridley’s theory explains your example.
