In Obolensky’s Chapter Six, he proposes that the more complex things are, the less traditional leadership may be required assuming certain principles exist. The principles are enumerated in terms of the Yin and the Yang – the 4 –plus -4 model of complexity (2014, p.105). In the three Chapters assigned in Heifetz et al., these principles are embedded in “making interpretations,” “designing interventions,” and “acting politically” (p. 113ff.).
Consider understanding Obolensky’s thinking regarding paradoxical principles, and his Four + Four principles, how can they be applied? The Practice of Adaptive Leadership (Heifetz, Grashow, and Linsky)
